Alumni Awards Nominations Open

During Homecoming 2011, the University’s Alumni Association will honor eight alumni who have graduated from our institution and one faculty member. Since many of you keep in contact with alumni, you are asked to nominate successful alumni for these awards. Out of all of the nominees for the five colleges there will be three top honors given to the three with the highest scores in each catagory for the following awards:You are also invited to nominate a faculty member for the Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award.  The following are the categories of the awards:

 

The Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award honors a faculty member who has made a positive impact on students, advanced the University’s mission, is recognized by peers as a campus leader, and has served in the local community.  In order to be eligible for the award, the faculty member must have a minimum of three years of service at A&M-Corpus Christi, be tenured or on tenure track, and be presently employed at the University.

The College Distinguished Alumni Award for each of the five colleges of the University. One alum will be selected for each college out of all nominated to represent their college for this prestigious award based on their contribution to society and meritorious achievements. Out of all of the nominees for the five colleges there will be three top honors given to the three with the highest scores in each catagory for the following awards:

 The Young Alumni Award honors graduates who have enjoyed exceptional personal and professional success early in their careers.  Those honored must have graduated within the past 10 years. 

 

The overall Outstanding Alumni Award recognizes personal and professional accomplishments.  This alumnus must have stayed actively involved with Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Alumni Association.  This is the highest honor the Association presents. The award highlights significant achievements of alumni who serve as leaders.

 

The overall Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes personal and professional successes that serve as outstanding examples to A&M-Corpus Christi graduates.  The award highlights significant achievements of alumni who serve as leaders in our region, state, and nation who for example may have won the nobel prize, been an olympian or title holder.

 

 

A committee consisting of alumni, faculty and staff will review the review and rate the nominationees and select the winner of each award.

 

The deadline for the nominations for the Alumni Awards is Friday, Nov. 7. The deadline for the nominations for the Distinguished Faculty Award is Friday, Nov. 5. Nominations for the awards should be sent to the A&M University-Corpus Christi Alumni Relations Office,6300 Ocean Dr., Unit 5743, Corpus Christi, TX 78412. The A&M-Corpus Christi Alumni Association will honor the awardees at the annual Alumni Association’s Awards Brunch, which will be held Saturday, Feburary 5 during Homecoming and Parents weekend 2011.
